Canadian multimedia artist Sook-Yin Lee is set to drop her next solo album, titled 72RHR, early next year. The full-length album will be released by Hand Drawn Dracula, mixed by Steve Chahley, mastered by Kevin McPhee, and written, arranged, performed, recorded, engineered and produced by Lee.

In anticipation, Lee has dropped a music video for “Broken English,” a cover of Marianne Faithfull’s song. Although not included on the album, the track shares some temporal elements with the upcoming 72RHR.

In addition, a mini documentary called Introducing Sook-Yin Lee… accompanies the announcement, providing the multiple contexts of Lee’s fascinating journey through Canada’s underground music scene and her other many creative talents in performance and filmmaking, including her recent film, Paying For It.

Stay tuned as more details about the album are announced.
